Vidyalaya At A Glance: The
Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya
Sangathan, an autonomous body formed by the Ministry
of Home Affairs. Kendriya Vidyalaya Cantt s one of the best institutions of
education at Kanpur it is situated inside the
Cantonment Area, Kanpur . This Vidyalaya has emerged as one of its kind in
providing disciplined academic atmosphere as well as co-curricular activities
with befitting infrastructure. The Vidyalayas provide
for the studies of Humanities , Commerce and Sciences
and many of them of multi-purpose in character providing for diversified
Courses like Computer Science. The Vidyalayas impart Free education upto Class VIII.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has already adopted the
new pattern of School Education i.e. +2 pattern. ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Eligibility Age For Admission : A child must at least 5 yeas
old on 30th September in the academic year in which admission is being sought
for admission in class I .For subsequent classes, the eligible age would be
reckoned again with reference to 30th September with a propionate over 5 years.
An upper age limit for admission is fixed as the minimum age limit plus2 years.
No child would be eligible for admission in a class if the age is more than
this maximum age prescribed. Methods for Admission :
For Class I No Admission test would be conducted .All application received
would be divided into the seven categories in order of priority as laid down in
Last Para . Each list would be taken up for admission in
order of priority to the extent vacancies are available. For Class II
and Above except Class XI For admission to these classes an admission test
would be conducted and a merit prepared for each category of priority separately . Admission would be given in order of merit
going by the sequence of the categories as priorities in Last Para. Candidate
securing less than 35% marks in each subject and less than 40% in aggregate
would not be eligible for admission irrespective on their category in the
Priority. Admission test would be of level of the annual examination of the
class preceding the one to which is being sought. An admission test would be
conducted in the following subjects : 1 Primary (
Except Class I ) English ,Hindi, Maths 2 Middle
Classes English , Maths, Gen, Knowledge. 3 Secondary
Classes English ,Hindi, Maths , Social Studies ,
Science Class XI Admission would be made in order of merit in the sequence of
categories of priorities on the basis of board results of class X( Pass )in the
following manner : Science Stream : 1. Science with Mathematics : * A minimum
of 60% marks in mathematics and, * A minimum of 60% marks in Science and, * A
minimum of 65% marks in Mathematics and science Taken together and a minimum of
60 % marks in the aggregate of all subjects. 2. Science without Mathematics : * If a students has
a minimum 65% marks in science and minimum of 60 % marks in aggregate all the
subjects.
